My Top 5 Baking Products

Everyone has a favorite spatula and a favorite stove burner (you know you do!). On top of these, I have some favorite things I use for baking. From a rubber spatula to my Kitchenaid mixer, these top 5 are used A LOT in my house.

Note: as an Amazon Associate, I earn a commission on these items if you purchase thru the links provided.

Of course, I started with the obvious. I LOVE my mixer. I use it almost daily. I love its purple color and the metal bowl (you can get glass or ceramic bowls too). I love the various speed settings and how easy it is to clean, too.

I know you're thinking, "why is she recommending a hand mixer when she just recommended a stand mixer?" Well, there are a few reasons: 1) Sometimes you want more control on what you're mixing so that you can slowly incorporate ingredients from around the edge of the mixing bowl, 2) Sometimes I am just lazy and haven't washed the paddle from the stand mixer yet and want to bake something else! I especially enjoy using the hand mixer when I am making dips like taco dip (recipe forthcoming!).

My family picks on my for the number of silicone spatulas I have. I tend to buy these for every holiday or just when I find cute ones at the store. It's important to have a good quality spatula. If you choose to get one with a wooden handle, make sure that the handle separates from the silicone so that you can thoroughly wash it (don't want any mold ICK!)

I enjoy using glass mixing bowls especially for royal icing. It's easy to see what you're mixing, yes, but they clean easily and are dishwasher safe (a major win in my house).

I have had the same mixing bowls for YEARS (I'm talking over 15 years).

You know I bake A LOT of cookies (at least a dozen a week) for home consumption. My family doesn't care of big name brand cookies so I am often baking homemade chocolate chip cookies. I love my Calphalon cookie sheets. I can get about 15 regular cookies or 8 of my big cookies on each sheet. These are also great for french fries, chicken nuggets, etc.

Super easy to clean and they are super thin, so storage is not an issue.

These are products I use and enjoy. Some of my items are well-loved so if you see them in photos, you'll notice it.

If you have baking products you enjoy, feel free to share with what they are!

Baking with Intuition

There is the saying "women's intuition," but I think there is also baking intuition. When you've been baking for a long time, you just kind of know when something is done. Don't get me wrong, I still
